Is Obamacare The Mark Of The Beast? Answer, NO!

This is a reprint of an article I wrote last year regarding Obamacare and the biblical mark of the beast. It seems that the YouTube video that caused controversy over this subject last year is at it again. Following was my finding on this issue…
Is Obamacare the Mark of the Beast? There are some Christian ministries and independent Christians who are blowing a portion of the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) way out of whack, and assuming it is potentially the mark of the beast that is going to be implemented by Subtitle C, entitled, The National Medical Device Registry.

For Christians who are finding this information on the web, particularly videos on Youtube, we need to be real careful, as to the misinformation that is being spewed and how this section of the Obamacare legislation is being interpreted.

I certainly understand the concern with this particular piece of the legislation, but to blatantly and falsely fear monger the Christian community is really a disservice to Christianity and just gives it another black eye.

The official congressional title of Obamacare is H.R. 3200 because the House of Representatives brought the legislation to the House floor. Because of all the hubbub over this particular Subtitle, many Christians are relating it to Revelation 13:16-17, which reads:

He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Now, let’s clear up a lot of misinformation regarding this section of the legislation. The following is the actual wording from the Bill regarding this Subtitle C, National Medical Devise Registry. Let’s read…

(g)(1) The Secretary shall establish a national medical devise registry (in this subsection referred to as the ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each devise that —
(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; and
(B) is —
(i) a class III device; or
(ii) a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining.

Okay, let’s stop there for a moment and decipher what has just been said. The first sentence says that the registry is to be used “to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each devise.”

This registry is not going to be implemented with an implantable device, on the contrary, the registry is meant to monitor life-sustaining or life-supporting implantable devices, which can be both a class II or a class III medical device.

The legislation goes on to describe exactly what the registry will accomplish. It is to keep appropriate information to identity each medical device used in or on a patient.

It will also be used to validating methods for validating patient safety and outcomes data from multiple sources. It goes on to describe additional documentation of data that the registry will contain for a patient and spells out patient privacy of the information that is retrieved. It also gives information on how the data will be used.

Every time this subsection mentions the term “device” it refers it back to the device described in paragraph (1), which does ‘not’ describe an implantable RFID chip that many prophecy experts assume will be used by antichrist for the mark of the beast, as described in Revelation 13:16-17, above, and that fear mongering Christians are claiming this to be.

The rest of the subsection of the Obamacare legislation is innocuous and, I repeat, is ‘not’ the prophesied mark of the beast.

Once more, brothers and sisters in Christ; let us be diligent to being sure that any information we receive from the Internet is carefully examined to be proven true.

Now, let me end with a little disclaimer. Because I am refuting the false information that some Christians are promoting about this section of Obamacare does not mean that I am condoning this legislation. On the contrary, in a recent article that I wrote following the SCOTUS decision, entitled The Demise of the Nation is Clearer Today, I make my point clear what I think of this legislation that clearly is a nail in the coffin of the U.S. Constitution. I don’t see how people could think Obamacare is the Mark of the Beast. That is reading way to much into something.
